What do i need?

So i'll be tracking drums obviously in a different room that i mix in.... but i need the drummer to be able to hear the click track... Do i get headphones with a really long cord? or...what do i get?

I have a couple of really long extension cords for headphones that I use to get people away from the machinery... I don't record drummers, but I assume that would work OK.

Where did you buy the extensions? and if you don't record drummers... what do you do?

Electronics shop should have them... not hard to find. I'm Australian so pointless giving you a store name! Google "headphone cord extensions".

I have a couple of 5 metre ones I cobble together in need. Worth taping the joins too... one less thing to worry about.

I don't record much at all at the moment, but when I do, it's pretty much anything but drums..

Seeing they cost about $5 does it matter that much?

It's a headphone extension, not an umbilical cord.

I'm sure they're all good...

I'm an enthusiastic advocate of extension cords, especially if you need to keep the player or singer at distance. There's this kind with it's own volume control or the standard ones and for an extra five points, a little article about why they're a good idea ! Someone even made a little movie about opening one in the mail !

You could send a line to a headphone distro ( it can be a cheap behringer)then from there split into as many mixes that you need.
If your close to a guitar center an extension is $5.00 for a ten footer.
