I am looking to record with an acoustic-electric guitar, and do my own vocals.
the space i am using is really small (a small size closet..maybe more)..I am 16. On a HUGE budget! I have a Boss BR-8, but it needs an adapter..i was thinking of selling it for $250, and then buying the Fostex MR-8 after saving $50 more.....I just need to know what i need in terms of equipment.

Thanks

first off, what do you mean by huge? Second of all, if you're just getting started, forget getting the best stuff because you probably will get frustrated trying to learn. You could get the MR-8, but I'm not a fan. If you want an all included system, check out the roland VS series, specifically the vs2480. I would suggest getting nice computer (you can search the site for specs) and an audio interface with a built in preamp. If you only want to record guitar and vocals, you could check out the presonus firebox or the digidesign mBox. You may want to check out the Firepod, Q10, UA1000, and 828 MKII as well.
