What do I need to make remixes of songs?

I want the ability to cut all instruments and single out certain one's such as vocals ; guitar, etc.

I have Cubase SX, Halion.

That's not possible....

When you bake a cake, can you then go back and extract the flour and eggs after it's been baked?

Same thing with audio.

When you hear songs that other's have remixed and/or sampled its because they got the original tracks from the artist. Like Blue Bear stated, you can't pull parts out of songs that have already been mixed down.

So decide what vocal or guitar part you want and write a nice little letter the whomever owns the song.

well.....you need access to the original tapes/tracks.

in other words...you can't do it. unless, of course, you're remixing your own stuff.
