okay, this is my 2-cents, and i know a lot on these forums wont agree, but i write/record christian hiphop. most people's first thoughts on any Christian music is "oh, another song about Jesus". but it's not exactly that way. i mean, you have your "gospel rappers" like
Cross Movement,
Timothy Brindle, shai linne, or R-Swift (check them out, quality hiphop!). then you have the christian hiphop artists that bring the morals and values from the bible and weave them into the lyrics so you dont necessarily get 'preached' to, but it's undoubtedly still there. for these artists, i recommend
Mars Ill,
Listener,
Quest the Wordsmith - MAN - soooo many more. if there are people that are into possitive vibe or 'thinking' raps... you gotta check these guys out. but i would like to see more of this flowing through "mainstream" avenues. i feel strongly that it will too. arists like
Mars Ill,
John Reuben, and
L.A. Symphony have already been featured on MTV (big whoop, i know, but still...).
i'm out... God Bless.
