All the others are still needed, send away! (if you already sent them, they haven't arrived, maybe due to the outage last night/early morning today)

cooledit pro 1.2
pentium 233, 256 mgs, windoze 95. 16/44.1 for just about everything, and a layla 20 bit front end.

it works for me and never breaks. screw spending more money.

Sonar xl 2, Sound Forge 6. I save in .bun so I can always go back and work on the project. I export .wav to SF. I use Lame to mp3.

I record in Sonar 2 (44 - 24bit), Do all my eq on each track using Waves EQ 4.

I then use Sound Forge to convert to normalise the level and convert to 44 - 16.

Costs a fair buck then so does any other hobby.

"If you were to backup a project, tracks, settings, etc., what files do you back up? Can you do a simple 2 track project of a couple seconds, zip it up with all files you would backup, and send it to me at my e-mail address?"

Huh? Are you asking one of us to actually send you two seconds of a saved session, or are you asking if it's possible? It's possible, but what you would get is this: the wav files of course, but only some of the session information regarding settings. Cool Edit displays certain things you've done to the session - individual track volume and panning and any effects you've added to the multitrack version. But if you take individual into the Edit version and mess with them there, the change is both permanent and undocumented, so there's no way of knowing what was done to that track - EQ and stuff you've done with plugins, for example.

I'm aware of that dobro (of course, what is stored regarding plugins, etc. varies from app to app), my interest is primarily in the pure flat recorded tracks and their synchronization, which is obviously stored in the project file (eg. the .SES file in CoolEdit).

I specifically require the file structure of the different project files for the different applications, and need samples to work with when developing this system... Thus the request for people to send me multi-track projects of a couple seconds.

Surely I could take something longer, but it would take too damn long and be a waste of bandwidth for these purposes!
