What DAW (PC/MAC) Software do you use?

I rolled my own.

Does this mean there's going to be a check box somewhere on NWR that says "Doug's home grown format"? :)

Howdy boys and girls. My modest setup is a 4 year old Atholon 500Mhz, 512Meg RAM, Cakewalk PA9 for recording tracks and mixing, Cool Edit Pro for FX and trimming and use the MP3 encoder in CEP to convert to MP3.

I record with a Boss BR8 and bring the tracks into Acid Pro 4.0

This has really helped me get that patented "Sounds like Ass" thing down

Okay, step 2,

If you were to backup a project, tracks, settings, etc., what files do you back up? Can you do a simple 2 track project of a couple seconds, zip it up with all files you would backup, and send it to me at my e-mail address?

W.

It depends on the project and program I'm using. If it's an audio only project in Cool Edit Pro, then I just save the .wav files and .ses (session) file. With Nuendo, I save the entire project directory which includes audio files, midi files, project file, MIDI Controller Map, and image files (peak files).

cool edit pro 2.0 and.. a few other things... you know, just odds and ends plugins... nothing big or expensive or pirated... though i'm interested to hear what the new NWR features will be...

Anyone else going to help me out with Step 2?

Or should I post a new one?

W.

When I back up, I save the whole Digital Performer file--program files, and audio files. If I don't save the whole thing, all the mixing moves, FX's and pans won't be saved. However, I could save only audio, and I can save it as AIFF, WAV or SoundDesignerII files. Today I sent a full session of WAV files for Hard2Hear without the DP program as he will mix in his own DAW.

More than anything, I need physical files to look at, anyone wanna waste five minutes on that?

Cool-edit pro is not needed, all others are however. I don't have all these DAWs at my own disposal afterall!

W.

Okay, so-far:

Nuendo is covered
Cool-Edit Pro is covered

Still need:

Digital Performer
Pro Tools
Cubase
Logic24
Sonar
Vegas Pro Audio
N-track
Acid Pro

And possibly more...

W.

I'll do the Pro Tools part... send me a PM with instructions on exactly what to do. Thanks.

Cool Edit Pro 2 - Sonar when I am doing Midi + soundfonts

Wish I could get a control surface for CEP2.

Acid, Samplitude, SAW, and Vegas will be in the "mail" tonight.
I'll let someone else do Sonar. Mine is giving me fits all of a sudden.
