Hello everyone,

I was hoping you guys could share some of your expertise on ribbon mics. I was home from college over winter break and while I was rummaging around in our basement I discovered a box of my Grandfather's old audio equipment as he was an audio technician for CBS for many years.

The one piece that really caught my attention was an RCA KU-3A. I did some research on the internet and saw a couple sell for close to three grand on ebay. Pretty exciting for a poor college kid. Can you guys tell me anything about this mic?

I currently own an MBox, an AT3035 and a SM57. Could I hook that mic up to my MBox? It has the cable which seems to convert it's native plug to XLR. The cable is frayed and is pretty much shot. It's native plug just looks like a very large XLR. Do you know what that is? Thanks so much for your help in advance!

Sounds exciting! I did a little research but I didn't find much more than you did. The mic obviously is worth a bit, and I would love to hear what its like if you try it out! Keep us posted
