Mapex Pro M's! Very excellent drums, especially with the way i have mine tuned. from the rack toms i get a very nice deep/warm sound from them, and same with the floor tom. the bass drum is amazing, when tuned loosely it packs a very deep punch, its fuckin awesome. i have 3 mounted toms, a bass drum, and a floor tom, then a EZ setup floor tom that i just added on from my first drum set, it sounds alrite, but my snare is a Pearl steel shell, when you tune that thing real high and tighten the snare on the bottom, you get the nicest pop ever, if you like pop look at that snare, good snare, good price. plus mapex isnt very expensive like DW and Pearl.

I am probably the only guy playing oak? Yamaha oak customs.. Yamaha hardware.. and UFIP Cymbals.

Dual kick drums are a beast to record. A guy brought some in one time and I was at a bit of a loss. I didn't have 2 identical kick mics, and he couldn't get his kicks tuned the same anyway. I have no use for them.

I play Fibes Drums, custom made out of Austin, Texas. A lot of people can't afford a set like mine, but I understand that completely. After 34 years of playing, I have found Fibes are the best sounding drums on the market. I play in three bands and do a lot of session work. I need the best drums money can buy. The late Buddy Rich also loved Fibes. He played a Fibes SFT snare just like mine. He said it was the best sounding snare he ever heard and I couldn't agree more.

Dude , the first brand new set I ever had back in 1971 was a chrome wraped set of Fibes !!! Wish I still had it . I had a Corder marching snare made in Huntville ,Al. before it became Fibes again !!

How do you like the Oak set? I saw them awhile back and wondered how they would sound.

I have a Yamaha Beech Custom set in my studio which sounds great.
My snare is a Yamaha Maple Custom.

Although I like my drums, DW Maple sets sound great.
