I've seen a couple of live Crimson shows and his e-drum setup sounded pretty good....a few pads, acoustics with triggers, a Roland td-10 module, and a Roland Handsonic....probably a lot more but thats all I could see..
the only way to get V-drums to work in any type of situation is to throw out all the presets in any V-drum module and start from scratch....those things are highly tweakable, but it takes a lot of time and knowledge to get it right...also you have to have the right pads...
