One of the king crimson albums I did we used V-drums. I loved the music but hated having to work with the V-drums which sounded really bad to me.

I've seen a couple of live Crimson shows and his e-drum setup sounded pretty good....a few pads, acoustics with triggers, a Roland td-10 module, and a Roland Handsonic....probably a lot more but thats all I could see..

the only way to get V-drums to work in any type of situation is to throw out all the presets in any V-drum module and start from scratch....those things are highly tweakable, but it takes a lot of time and knowledge to get it right...also you have to have the right pads...

Yeah, I did a bunch of records with King Crimson. It was always cool doing the hybrid sets, it was only on a couple V-drum only albums (the projeKct two albums) that were a pain to deal with. Like I said the music was great but it was really tough to get the Vdrums to sit in the mix and have some life.
