Too much to choose from, as mentioned before, so allow me to break the rule and to slip whole albums in[ no time to search for individual songs .....]
Pretenders...first three albums, very good interplay between the gtrs. and well arranged, some of these songs where singles, but forgotten the titles....
David Bowie "Heroes"....who of you here uses an E-bow?, which is used in this song's intro.
"Moonage Daydream" [from the "Ziggy" album] listen to the panned solo at the end of the song, it lifts the song up to a different place.
"Rebel Rebel" [from the "Diamand Dogs" album] for its simplicity and therefore will stick in your mind.
Guns and Roses "Sweet Child of Mine", cliche song, very American but sweet sound on the Les Paul, also like the solo a lot, do not know why the Guns had to cover "Knocking...." as they did not add anything to this song, anyway just a thought [Hey as I am typing this I realise it is a line from a Creedence Clearwater song, well they did some good songs too........what has happend with them anyway?, I mean the band......]
The Cure any song, reasons: For their use of well chosen effects on their songs, and the dark sounds they get.
The Stones "Heartbreaker" [from "Ghots Head Soup"....what a title eh?....]
like the intro for its unusual sound [Phase or Flange through a Leslie....?] The whole album has got that relaxed Jamaican feel, and to me the album sounds like Orange, just as the colour of its cover===sounds strange to some of you? Hearing in colours? Well I think we do, I have it with more songs and albums, and also certain effects, I hear them as a colour=====[they need to do some scientific research about that one, or perhaps it has already been done...]
The Police "Message in a Bottle" like the whole chordsequence of the song, unusual way of harmonizing a song, or at least for the late 70s it was, still sounds fresh, and I also like the solo.
"So Lonely" good solo too. With all the Police stuff you get well arranged songs and good choice of effects, whished Andy Summers would do more of that these days, but I guess he feels he has done that so time to do something else, would probably do the same if I was him........
Van Halen I know some of you like them and some of you just.....well that is how the ball rolls eh? So for this one it has to be "Fair Warning" the album which has some out-of-this-world phase sounds on some of the song's intro's.....nice, sounds orange too to me!
Next time try to give shorter replies as some of you may now really be bored to death with me......
Eddie
