Title says it all -- is this normal? I worried about doing it more than once a day, but every few days shouldn't hurt, should it? Yeah, I read the warnings

you may develop queaziness from the fact that its just as good as gear decently more expensive.

If you use the mic while enjoying smokeless tobacco I think it is just fine.:D:D:D

is becoming overly defensive a health issue?...if so, then I have a health issue.

Oh my I almost fell out of my chair. LMFAO :D:D:D:D

I developed a Behringer allergy. Have to see both a dermatologist and a hearing specialist.:D

You develop Behringeritis - the uncontrolled desire to create cheap knockoffs of every electronic device you see.

no no no...it's realy good stuff...I love it..you just...ahem...mm......soz.

it is quite the funny situation, really. Nice mics ;)
well, I certainly don't mean to poopoo anything - my confession is that I've never tried behri mics -- just indulging in the less-than-mature humor that sometimes takes over here.

I have tried smokeless tobacco, but not for quite awhile. I just had a 4 hour flight (with a bonus 2 hours sitting on the tarmac at the end, waiting to get to the gate) sitting next to a dude who was dippn -- not nearly as bad a second hand smoke :D

Really? well since you are so keen on sharing your valuable insight and extensive experience on the subject, what high end mics would you compare them to?

Neumann? Sony? AKG? Brauner? Soundelux? Gefell? Shure? How many of these do you work with on a daily basis? Are you a mic tech? Engineer? Producer?

Did you find the sound indistinguishable from these? I would love to know.

I HAVE tried Behringer mics. Of all the tons of mics I own, have purchased, modified, restored, refurbished or have built from scratch, the Behringers were at the very bottom soundwise. Only Nady came in sounding worse.

EDIT: Behringer does make one really good sounding mic, which is the XM8500. Other than that, especially among condensers I haven't found a good one. And Harvey likes the ECM8000, which I tried, but found it to be only useful for overheads and room analysis.

Hmm. It's much worse than you imagine I'm afraid- There is an insidious pathogenic that manifest symptoms of 'the loss of all original thought'. Look again closely at the 'glassy eyed grinning stares of the 'Berhi Engineers' in their public ad doc photos.. Highly paid professionals in their field- yet completely subdued and unable to come up with even simple original names (for their copied yet!) "creations".
In one all be it rare extreme case, one singer/songwriter was sited 'only able utter the words 'Jeremiah was a bullfrog..' repeatedly from the too prolonged use of one of their mics in close proximity.
Your on your own here.

I like the ecm8000. It's ok for acoustic guitar and (believe it or not) some vocals. But I have other mics that I prefer for these duties. But the ecm8000 will get the job done.

On the other hand, I demo'ed the Beri B1 through headphones at a music store once. Ouch! The screechy high end made me put it down immediately. That one may really send you to a hearing specialist.

Did you have any problem with the floor noise of that one? The floor noise in mine are very apparent, but it has to do with the particular Panasonic capsule used. I might try pulling them apartand performing the Linkwitz mod and see if that makes them any better. Stock though they are really only good on louder sources because of the floor noise.

Linkwitz mod doesn't do anything for the noise level, only makes the microphone capable of handling more SPL.

Martin

So I guess it's just doomed because of the choice of capsule. At least on softer sources.

Too bad. I really wish something could be done about the noise.

Might get hit in the head as they are flung across the room...
Also, once crammed into things, they are tough to remove.
