CJ, how bout a bit more information? what are you
trying to do, record Mp3s, record yourself playing?
David

Hello CJ. :)

I think we all need to know a little more information about what you are trying to record.

Are you trying to make a demo and CD of...

Live band (i.e. drummer, bassist, guitarist, etc.)?

Vocals (i.e. singer, rapper, or spoken word)?

Dance Music or Hip-Hop using samples from records, CDs, MPC3000, or SP 1200?

If you share with us some more info, I'm sure we all will be able to help you make a better decision on what to use/purchase for the making of your demo and CD. :)

Talk with you soon...

Easy as 1-2-3

Hey CJ,
You'll have to decide if you want to set up your pc with a soundcard and recording software or go with a dedicated hard disk recorder. I have chosen the former. Either way you go, you will have the capability to digitally record your music as a wave file and save it on a hard drive. The cd burning process involves copying said wave file off your your hard drive.

What's up CJ?

Also, you might want to tell us how much money you can/want to spend on equipment.

In my opinion, I think that computer based recording is the better (and maybe cheaper) route to use.

I've used both platforms (dedicated hard disk and computer-based) and I much prefer the computer-based.

"suff to brun". Ya, good one. Maibee yew shuld becomm LITERATE b4 yew atemp bruning.

Hey Monty, take it easy on CJ. :)

CJ, might not be from this country, and that could explain why CJ's spelling and sentence structure is not up to par. :)

Or.....

CJ might not be "great" in the reading and writng department, but CJ gets the point across.

Peace

I do not recall seeing the entry form for this beloved bbs,
were proper english and grammer was a prerequisite. If dragon had to keep all the people out that made mistakes, he'd be alone.

Music is a universal language, hell, Micheal Schenker couldn't speak much English, but he could light the world on fire with his pyrotechnics.

I am a Christian Reaggae Singer i wont spend at least 2000 bucks

I understand U CJ, give us some more info and
we will pop some answers back at you, David

CJ,
answer for us these questions;

What instrument do you play?

Do you sing?

Do you play in a band?

Do you do midi or synths?

Most important, what do you already own? List
EVERYTHING you own, even if its a cow bell.

Tell us what kind of computer you have,
do you want to use a software program like
Cakewalk, how many tracks are you talking about,
etc. There are some really cool folks in this
forum who will bend over backwards to help you.
So if your typing aint up too snuff, dont worry,
we will help as much as we can, so send all the
info you can. Peace, David

Don't be in no hurry

Spend it wisley my son . . . stop ... listen . . . think ...absorb . . .

Monty, Monty, Monty......

Please, si vous plait, por favor stop brow'beating people on their spelling.

You must learn to relax. :)

Life is too short. Don't waste time and energy by saying and doing needless negative things.

There is no need for negativism (sp?) on this BBS.

One of the main reasons this BBS was created was to help answer questions about MUSIC, all aspects of MUSIC.

Not, to crucify somebody for their spelling, grammar and sentence structure.

If, CJ had somebody he or she could ask questions about music, I'm sure he/she would ask them, but CJ doesn't.

So...... that is why CJ posted the question.

If you would like to help CJ, then answer the question positively.

If you can't answer the question, if you don't want to answer the question, and if you don't have any POSITIVE INPUT, please refrain from posting.

Merci beau coup
Muchas gracias
Thank you very much

Peace SPIN

P.S. To all, please excuse my non-positive (is that a word?) reaction to Monty's post.

"...negativism (sp?) on this BBS..."

er, I think the word you're looking for is "negativity".......

:D :D

Bruce

Nope, negativism is the word I wanted to use. ;)

The ideology of negativity = negativism.

:)

Peace Spin :D

Monty, if you wish to respond to bball jones,
his screen name is bball jones, not bb balls.

That's okay that you added the extra b, extra s
and an extra space, we forgive you, as you most
likely have a reading problem. There are some
very nice videotapes out there for young people
like yourself that deal with phonics and reading.

Maybe ask your local library for help, they are
often quite helpful.

Disclaimer (that's a big word for bigger folk,
maybe you can look it up): I apologize if there
are any mistakes in this post; I type quickly,
saves me more time to do my favorite thing,
make music.

There are soom cool chat rooms on AOL that you
might enjoy.
