Vocals sound disconnected from Beat in ACID 4.0: How to fix rec-setup?

I am currently using ACID 4.0 to record vocals. On most the verses I put one main vocal and a backup double vocal (empasis words). I use a Behringer B-1 mic and a Edirol UA-5 interface set on 44/16. The vocals record in one ear so I double the audio to the other ear. When I listen to my tracks, it's like the beat and the vocals are separated and not connected. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to make it better.

Thanks

make sure you're recording a mono signal and not a stereo one. under record device (when you press Record) select mono signal, sounds like that's why you're getting a signal in one ear only. sounds like you might be having a latency issue too if the beat and vocals are not in sync. When you're watching the wave form of the beat (or midi events if the beat is not audio), does it look as if it's off beat from the visual cue. Like is the play line getting to measure 4 early or a certain cymbal hit occuring late....something like that? If so, go to Options-->Preferences--->Audio Tab and change the playback buffering size lower and uncheck the box right below that so you can lower the recording buffer sizes too. The lower the buffer sizes the less the computer will think about processing of the audio before it's recorded or played back. It's good to do this when recording especially when you have no plugins or anything to worry about. Then when you mix it, just raise them back up. Good luck

ps. i tried downloading the song, but the link was dead or something, so i'm basing it all on how you explained the problem.

right click SAVE AS... don't click the link. thanks for the help

The recording is actually on beat perfectly... It's just the way it's EQ'd. The vocals don't sound like saturated into the beat... All i did was shift the right channel of the vocals a tiny bit (to sound more rich). My vocals are clear and sound good, but i think the frequencies need to blend with the beat better.

thanks...got it downloaded. i like the way you did the vocals. sounds good. i'd say bring them up more though and bring down that beeping synth noise. it seems to overpower the vocals and i miss what they're saying. nice rhythm, just a bit too loud....ok, there's my opinion
