Yep, no vocals yet. Hopefully it's interesting enough. This one's called "Waving and Drowning".

I loved it! I can hear lyrics in my head already. It's a funny thing you mentioned Geoff Tate, because that was the voice I was hearing....Purge said:Yeah, hopefully I'll just morph into Geoff Tate soon.
The drums are just a drum machine (Reason) and hopefully it's semi-passable.
Thanks for the listen!

Hey, good catch. I figured it was because my friend gave me a DVD of Operation:Livecrime and I've been wearing it out!7string said:That's probably because parts of it are reminiscent of Eyes Of A Stranger. As for the song itself I like it. Long... could be shorter since it's repetitive but still good.

Suite Sister Mary. Yeah, she's pretty damn good!7string said:I have that DVD and I love that album! Wow, the chick that sings with him on that one song (name escapes me right now - 12 too many beers!) has an awesome voice too. I think Geoff has one of the best voices in music. VERY distinctive.
Very true, very true. I didn't even think about it until after I heard those first two chords in the "chorus" after I recorded it. The chords are played in a different position, but damn...it's pretty friggin' close, isn't it? I've said before that DeGarmo is one of my biggest influences, but I sure didn't want to sound like a poor man's Queensryche.7string said:That's probably because parts of it are reminiscent of Eyes Of A Stranger. I'm going to download it and play around with it, if you don't mind. Nothing that I would ever post or lay claim to, but I want to try something with it, if it's OK with you Tom...Purge said:Very true, very true. Geoff was labelled "The Purest Voice In Rock" awhile back. He's lost it a bit, I think, at least as far as the higher octaves go. But I would kill for his vocal chords....
