No question that that is a Teac transport. Just guessing I would say that it was probably used in a duplication facility for something or another.

Well duh...

Clearly its a Suntronics UP.

I don't know this machine but I know Suntronics. The late Ron Sundell, the owner, was a genius at wringing out the best possible performance from the TEAC/TASCAM line of machines and consoles. Among other things, he converted 3300 1/2 tracks to 30ips machines. I'm guessing that the unit in question here is one of his prototypes. Of what, I have no idea.

Strange looking thing, think the speed is 7-1/2 and 15.
And the R-reel-table only take 5 inch reels ?
Wonder what connections, the back has ?

Maybe a second deck for "flanging"? Or maybe like an "echoplex" setup with another machine? And then again, maybe its a levitation device?:D

I've got a 601 in a suitcase just like that. I was going to put it on ebay for a buck.:D
