Hey guys, sorry but I couldn't find it any where with the search.

Do any of you guys remember a game we played where the first post(er) posted his own chords for a song where he hadn't let us hear the original song?
so the plan was to have others make their own interpretation with the given chords and at the end he posted his song and it sounded totally different than what ppl posted...

I was wondering if any of you know where that thread is. Well, don't have any other intellectual things to say... so thank you in advance! lol

god bless ya

LoLoL. Yea.. I tried to find it in the forum but had no luck with it... Perhaps it wasn't in homerecording? Hmmm Maybe I should just start a thread and get this rolling. Would anybody be interested?

:)

That does sound interesting.

Would the OP just post chords, or would it be chords and lyrics? (I feel like just a chord progression would leave too much room for interpretation.)

Either or~

It would seem very limiting with lyrics and chords because the song has to match the mood of the lyrics. But I know what you mean by being VERY VERY open. I think that was the dealio, originally.

Sections (verse, pre, chorus, bridge.. eg) with chords for each section could pretty much give enough guidelines, no? What do you think?

I personally wouldn't mind with lyrics either. It would make it all the more interesting to see how creative we can get with certain limitations :)

Yeah, I'd think it'd be more fun with lyrics. You'd want a little bit of cohesiveness to the songs.

I want to start this but where do I even begin.. lol.

Most of my songwriting is of Christian nature and not sure how many would like the lyrics. ;)

We could just add a clause where a few words (Jesus, Baby, and maybe one or two others) are considered interchangeable for the purposes of the song!
