I checked on the Waves site and didn't see anything about it. Do they have an upgrade system, where you can upgrade from older versions of their programs to newer ones for cheaper than normal? I know most programs have this.

I just bought the Native Bundle version 2.5 on ebay and I was wondering if down the road I can upgrade for like, $100 instead of having to buy it all over again new.

Its possible if you had bought it new and registered the program. But buying it second hand may not give you discounted upgrades. I would send em an email.

The ownership is being transferred legally to me, so anything buying firsthand would allow will be allowed to me.

If you can register it thru their website you might be in luck.
Go to the register and authorize tab and see how it goes.

I plan on registering it when I get it, but I just sent the check out yesterday so I don't have the product in hand yet.

I was just asking for anybody that has the plug ins if there was an upgrade path. I hope there is.

You really need to be careful here. It is very likely that the seller has already used the upgrade. If so, the product you are buying is illegal.

You don't own most software. What you own is a license to use the software (read the fine print when you install it). If you take advantage of an upgrade, the license is transferred to the new product, rendering the license on the old product invalid. As such, the seller really has nothing to sell.

While you would get the software and disks, you really don't have a legal license to use them. Which, of course, precludes registering them and taking advantage of any upgrades.

Further, even if the seller has not taken advantage of any upgrades, the license may not be transferrable by the terms of the licensing agreement.

Don't know if any of this is the case here. Just thought you might want to know.

I'm curious as to how you know that.

Waves has a registration transfer agreement so you can transfer the things.

This is what was on the ebay page:

Written transfer of license in accordance with the Waves license agreement ("...you may transfer your rights under this Waves License Agreement on a permanent basis provided you transfer this License Agreement, the SOFTWARE, and all accompanying written materials and retain no copies...")

Sounds like you're cool then.

Make sure you register the transfer with Waves, so they recognize you as the new owner. In that case, I would imagine any upgrade path that offer would be open to you.

Offhand I don't know what their upgrade policies have been in the past.

BTW, you'll notice the use of the term "license" in the legal mumbo jumbo you provided.
