Wav recording

I have a Tascam 414MKII and want to record it into my computer as a Wav file. Any suggestions ?

Record in 16 bit/44.1Khz/Stereo format.

You'll need an RCA to 1/4" stereo adapter cable.

Would it work better if I took the stereo L&R from my 414MKII and plugged them (RCA) into a RCA L&R X 1/8" mini and into my soundcard Line Input ?

You will probably want a program for recording and/or editing.

I use Sound Forge 5.0, by Sonic Foundry.
