-Washburn D28S/N-

I have an chance to get one. It is in new and i mean new condition in a hardshell case. What is something like this worth and what are everyones feelings about this guitar.
 
Uhhh, on the Washburn site, I don't see the model you typed listed.........but Washburns are very good guitars...I have a D10S which I use as a practice/pick up and strum/compose/have fun with guitar......however, it is actually made in China, which I did not know until it arrived last year...I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had known that up front...I was stupidly under the impression that Washburns were USA made...I later found out some are, some aren't.......

That said, it's a very very very good guitar for what I use it for....stays in tune, sturdy and pretty.....it is, however, noticeably smaller than my Martin D28.....both length and width.....and as a result, doesn't have the loudness when needed....

Maybe the one you're looking at is new old stock from years back?

If so, it might be made in the USA and really cool....check it out.......gibs:cool:
 
I've played just about every Washburn acoustic there is since about 1987 or so. The overall quality of Washburn guitars are very good. Even the lower line stuff. They don't have any distinct tonal qualities that make them unique like a Guild would, but you can't go wrong with a Washburn.
 
I don't know about the D28, but I do have a 2001 Washburn 6 sting accoustic/electric and a 2002 Wasburn 12 string accoustic both are well made, play well and sound good for the price.

Regarding the value of the D28 - again I don't know about that model, and like any company there are a wide price range of Washburn guitars - but as a general rule - most mid priced Washburns tend to be in the $300-$400 range.

i have a1978 washburn d28-s the list price is 500.00 but i would not sell it for 3,000.00 it is a replica of the 1964 martin d28-s but built better and plays better.the only guitar that sounds and plays as well is a vintage 3,000.00 gibson.if you have a chance to get one i strongly suggest that you do.i bought mine 5 yrs. ago,for 250.00 in mint cond. and i would never sell it.
