Hello all, I haven't been here in a while and thought I would post one of my newest efforts but wouldn't you know, I put it in the wrong place. So here it is. Please let me know what you think of it. I play all the instruments along with a self programed midi drum track. (midi is this non-drummer's friend!) I invite ALL input, for and against. How else am I going to get better?

I think this is well sung and a there's a nice tone to the guitar break moptop.

The drums sound very MIDI programmed though. I don't know what you've used for the programming, but I'd look to get some higher quality samples that sound more natural and use less reverb.

The sound effects are a nice touch, but the applause and alarm clock end a little abruptly to my ears. I'd make the samples slightly longer and fade them out to make them sit a little better in the mix.

Hope this helps.

Well it made me laugh, especially the explosion and sound effects thrown in. My experience with sarcastic songs is that they dont attract attention. Frank Zappa managed to pass off a few, IDK. I could see this song used in a Black Comedy though maybe.

As Rob mentioned the production would be better using as many real instruments as you can. If you cant mic drums look into Toontrack or Native instruments, unless your doing Dub-step or Rap, drum machine (drums) are gonna sound bad.

Overall I liked it, I get the emotion of it.

Thanks guys for your input. It helps to hear others ideas and thoughts. Yeah, this was an spur of the moment thing that just came off very easily. I don't have any illusions of grandure and fame with this one!:D
I know my midi drums are the weakest part of my songs. I usually do my drum tracks in Beatcraft which allows me to use any samples I want but in this case I got lazy and laid down a midi track and used the percussion sounded triggered from my keyboard. Quick and easy, yes. Convincing sounding, mmmm, maybe, well not really. I can always go back and change it but I don't think it's necessary.
