Trailing Behind Again
This is a little off center, but please help. I am going straight out of my mind (a short trip, believe me!) trying to find the lyrics and/or chords for an old Oak Ridge Boys tune called "beautiful you", because my mom wants me to record it for her. I have been all over Yahoo and google, with no luck. Seems like all people remember the ORB for is "Elvira" and "Thank God for Kids". It's been years since I heard this song, and I don't have a copy of it. Can anyone help me out with this? I don't want to disappoint mommy...

Just a little background, I am putting together exerpts from all my home videos and putting my originals on as a soundtrack, with a few covers that she requests. These are being added together and then made into a DVD with Sony Vegas 5.0. She is adament about this song, so please, if you have it and can copy down the lyrics and maybe the chords, I'd appreciate it. If I could find a copy of the song, I'd do it myself, but that's next to impossible here in Japan. I can almost remember some of it and played around with it last night and came up with a facsimile in the key of A, but I am lost on it after the opening phrases.
Thanks again if you can help a poor bugger out!

I think it goes something like "Gitte' up . . . ah-oom pappa, oom-pappa, mow, mow."

Na, that's Elvira.

Sorry.

Yeah, it is. I wonder how much they had to pay the baritone to sing that stupid line, anyway?

But seriously, I need that song. Can anybody help me, or am I stuck trying to convince my mother to fall in love with some other group (they have been around in some form or other since the 50's, I found out on the good ol' internet)? She's been a fan longer than I've been alive. :(

Beautiful You....

I found a really bad mp3 of the song posted, but it's a stream that I can't download and save. Any ideas on where I could possibly find a version of this I can download and listen to? I tried Amazon.com and even Wallmart.com. I am at my wits end. And I talked to my mother, and she still wants this song. It's the last one I am going to have to do, but it's the hardest one. Especially since I don't have a decent version to play along with. HELP!!!

They didn't pay the baritone anything because it was sung by the BASS singer.

OOPS!, Yeah, there is a difference. He's WAAY deeper than a baritone! :o
I looked on the ORB website, and almost everywhere else. Amazon has a few of their older albums/cds'/cassettes, but nothing new. I may have to tell mom to pick a different song. She already has "Fancy Free", which I did a week ago. Used a Digitech Vocalist Performer to do the bass part. Would I get into trouble if I posted it for people to hear? I don't want to have to try and get copyright permission and the whole process just to post one song on the internet. I know I don't need it if I am just sending the song to mom...

*EDIT* I gave up on finding the song. I told my mother my problems, and she's a good sport. Now I can find something else that will fill up the last 5 minutes or so. No big deal anymore. :D
