Wanting to convert WAV to MP3

I heard all I gotta do is go online and upgrade my Music Match Jukebox to version 6.0. to convert my WAV files to MP3. Is this true, or can you refer me to some conversion software?
I don't think I need to spend $50 like some of these programs want me to, do I? Isn't it like a cheep $10 or $20 download from somewhere that will help me do this???

I use Exact Audio Copy, and it seems to be pretty good. It's freeware.

Go to www.hitsquad.com and download the demo version of cool edit 2000, you can use that software to convert wave to a bunch of other formats, including mp3
