Hey everyone,
I have been doing independant projects for a while now. I have been using a berhinger eurorack 8 port mixer pluged into my line in on my computer and recording with cool edit pro. i have been wanting to get a more professional sound and start building a better home studio. a sample of my recordings is at
myspace.com/christopherflitton

suggestions? equiptment and software suggestions? all help would be much appreciated.

thanks

This is a huge question. First, you need to tell us what your budget is, what types of things you will be recording, and what type of room(s) you will be recording in.

Also, try the search feature, as this question is frequently asked.

Budget. Always start with a budget. Then tell us how many tracks you want to record at a time.

I dont have a huge budget, i want to start small but build it up over time. It will mostly be for personal use. Right now i use adobe audition and record using a berhinger eurorack mixer into the line in. I have been looking at possibly getting a mbox. but am thinking some other type of input, becuase i am running audition. I just want to start improving my sound from what it is now, to as close to cd quality as possible. I have my own office room in my house where i do all my recording.

samples of what i have done can be found at

it sounds to me like you might want a firewire interface with a lot of inputs so you can be able to record bands

just do a web search for firewire interface

you would have a lot of flexibility that way

what do those run at and what else would you suggest?
