What type of sound are you after? Clean uncoloured, or something with it's own flavour? How much you looking to spend? Have you thought of getting a new mic rather than used? If I was to say sell my C1, I'd want about £100 for it, but I think you can get a new one for about £140?

The SP B1 is a very good mic in the very cheap arena - about £60! This is a pretty neutral sounding mic in my opinion, but may not flatter many voices.

Is it better for me to buy a new one? I'm considering a Behringer B1, what do you think?

Have not used a Behringer B1, but the Studio Projects B1 is good as I said for about £60. You can also get a GT55 for £129, which is a class mic for the money, but may be a bit dark on some voices?

When you first get it, you'll probably be frustrated, it sounds like a shure sm 58 but with more detail and more muffled. What you're gonna want to do is, (I don't have my files with me so I don't remember exactly) add a para eq that looks a lot like this.

20 Hz 20K Hz

I don't remember the exact frequencies, but it's on a 20 to 20000 Hz scale. the peak is 5 decibels above flat, and the bottom peak is negative 15 or so leading to flat. the mids are scooped a tiny bit somewhere in there. I also have a tube preamp so I'm not sure if that helps it out or not. But if you use eq like that and set yourself up with some lexicon or decent reverb, you should be set with a pretty clear, detailed and accurate vocal sound.

Always trust your ears first,
Brian

Since you can't read that diagram I typed, just PM me if you get the mic and you're having trouble with it. I'll help you the best I can.
