Wanted: someone to master our CD...

We are trying to get the best value mastering service. This means that we would be willing to pay more for a better mastering, not that we are looking for the cheapest mastering (although cost and quality will both be factored).

What we are looking for, is people who would be willing to master one track for free (all would master the same song). The person would then return the mastered song with a quote on how much it would cost for 15 songs in a similar condition.

Then, we will be able to compare this to the original and other mastered versions of the song.

Whoever we go with, will get paid for the sample song, as well as the other 14 songs.

We will not use your work if you are not paid for it.

If we don’t use you for our mastering, you would only be out a half-hour of your time but would have the joy of listening to some fresh, fun, acoustic, humor-music before anyone else does. If we do use it, you will be reimbursed for your time and paid your asking price.

Most Mastering Engineers will provide a sample master of about 30 seconds of a song without charging so you can get an idea of the finished product, heck, I havent seen one that doesnt...

Its a bit weird to ask for an entire song isnt it? :confused:

And how to you verify that you don't send different songs to different
people to get all songs mastered for free?

Would kinda take the continuity out of it, wouldn't it? I did wonder the same thing though.

And if masterers would like to put a voice in the middle that ruins it, that is fine.
