and I don't know where to begin! I don't know anything about flash. Can anyone give me any pointers? Maybe software I can use ect ect? Thanks!

You might want to try Joomla which is open source - meaning it's free - before you decide to tackle flash.

My best advice to you is to NOT do flash.

Most flash amateurs produce very amateurish websites. Heck, I've even hired people to do flash mods to my website, and even they were incapable of producing a professional looking website.

On top of that, flash takes a long time to load, is cumbersome on lower end processors, and is a great deal more frustrating to the average surfer. People can't link to secondary pages within your site, which means that they're forced to sit through whatever silly intro you cook up. After a few times, they will simply stop coming back.

Consider this - by the time people get done with your first "page" (scene, really) of flash, they're on page 3 or 4 of my html-based site.

Another negative to flash is that search engines do not recognise flash links.
Search engines rate pages in part buy the links on them, ergo~ bad page rating. There are ways around it buy placing hypertext links under the flash. That allows people without flash & search engines to see the links.

All this and more is in my new book! "Things I Learned After I Built My Flash Website". Available in hard copy and paperback;)

Oh ya, Ive been told firefox hates my website;)

Time to redo it. Just not right now.

When building a successful website, and you want to include flash. Don't do it to the WHOLE website. Your main page should consist of some thing that is quick to load like HTML. Use flash sparingly. Use it on something like an ad that shows different releases or shows clips of the rest of your content. IF you really want a Flash intro, make sure to include a skip button.... Not many people will view intros unless it's very eye catching.

The one good thing about flash... is that all content is uploaded before you view the flash site. So it'll be like damn near split instance in viewing other pages on the site. And also good flash sites can show professionalism. But so can html sites.

All in all, keep flash to a minimum when building a site that will have flash in it. And use Flash to provide content (marketing stuff), not the whole website itself.
