i accidentally posted this in the wrong forum... but i think this is the right place for it... i'm new around here. recording is something i never took too seriously, it was just something to let me listen to myself as a musician.
anyway i just did my first cd for a record label... the band is called the coloured lights... you can download for free at www.twelvestepstospace.com
i dont know anything about pro techniques, i just sort of figured things out on my own
the cd was done in cooledit pro with a usb 32-bit interface and some standard cheap-level(100-500) mics
i would love to get some suggestions from people who take recording more seriously about ways i could improve the sound (like what exactly is mastering and how do i experiment with it to get a better sound then what i've already got?)
