Yep...Steve pretty much uses ebony exclusively...

This is going to be an interesting guitar to record. I played it last night for the first time, and the sound is radically different from the player's prospective than from 2-3' in front of the guitar...different than any guitar I've played...

I'm thinking a KM84 a few inches from the hole, and a mic out front, maybe an Altec coke bottle or something...
