Just opened the case on a new archtop guitar that Steve Andersen made for me, and thought that you folks might want to check out some pretty amazing figured maple...

Yep...Steve pretty much uses ebony exclusively...

This is going to be an interesting guitar to record. I played it last night for the first time, and the sound is radically different from the player's prospective than from 2-3' in front of the guitar...different than any guitar I've played...

I'm thinking a KM84 a few inches from the hole, and a mic out front, maybe an Altec coke bottle or something...
