Pretty intense & wild... sounds like something from a video game. Good guitar sound!

Sorry it took so long to get too, but I was drinking... :D
Man, the tone is just killer...I've been trying to mic my amp, with just some ok results. Tell me, how close is this to what you heard from the amp. Did you eq much, or add any other effects? I've got a 58, and an AT 4040, an dhaven't played with mic'ing much. I wind up with some pretty high heavy sounds. Got any advice for me?
Ed

Hi Ed,

I never listen to the amp in the room... I set the amp based on what I hear in my phones...

I use very little EQ although I do use the Vintage Warmer like an EQ... but it's somewhat different...

no advice, but the difference for me is the amp... I have several Hi-Gain heads and cabs and it's very easy to dial the tone. I bought this Cobra amp and cab about a month ago and I really like what I'm getting from it...

This is funny, because I really haven't liked 57s on rhythms, but it really seems to work Okay with the e609S for these riffs

Thanks,
-Keith-

has anyone else taken a listen

...sure would like to hear some more comments

Did you do the harmony leads too? If so, very cool!

I was confused about which instruments were the backing tracks? I guess all the guitars were added in? It all sounded pretty good to me, reminded me of some of the classic marshall tones. The track could have passed for Maiden or In Flames. Cool stuff

I recorded the harmonies and the very lame riff in the middle of the song... I found this backing track on guitarbt.com in the metal section.

When I posted this I didn't realize that for you to get to the backing track you have to join guitarbt... it's free though

Thanks a lot

Great guitar sounds!
Are you placng both of the mics up close? On different speakers? I remember your description of your method in another thread and I just wondered if this was similar.

Thanks!

thanks for listening...

yep, the e609S on one speaker and the 57 on the other. I record stereo tracks and when I pan them, one mic's influence is diminished or excluded totally. also, I can collapse the stero track and pan it, or flip the L<->R on one of the stereo tracks and thus have like mics L & R. this method offers a ton of flexibility during mixing.

I point the mic right at the speaker dust cover and about two inches out from the grill. I do roll off the top end at 7500Hz and add a shelving boost of about +2-3db depending at 10KHz.

Whoah man...That's pretty heavy, and damn good. I thank God I'm not a guitar player. This way I always have an excuse to never get such a good sound or play that well. That was awesome and much too short.
