Bored of Canada
I'm getting into the swing of the 'base finally.
Only at the tracking level though.

Anyway.

Any "conplete" song creation videos out there?
Like from tracking to mixing to the finished song?

Sorry for being short :/ been on the road for 8 hours. Zzzzzzzz

Do you mean a full production of a song using Cubase? I haven't come across one of those yet, would be cool though.

Check out these awesome videos though! The Gearfest recording/mixing ones are really great. View more - PUREMIX

Ok, cool, I'll check em out tonight.

Well, not necessarily a full production. Just sort of a basic overview video of how cubase works. I don't have a manual or anything since my le5 came with a guitar processor. So I mean even if there's a manual out there or something so I can :RTFM:
:o im a little n00by when it comes to cubase. I came from using a tascam unit, and on there it was pretty simple you know?
Plug in the cables, set the settings, record the tracks. After recording the 1-8 tracks I would got in to "mastering mode"- which was really just mixing mode (with the tiny volume knobs and built in 2 band eq :p)- and mix it all down to a stereo track. After that I would hook up the unit with a usb cable and import the wav. file in to my computer. And done.

Like here's my scenario basically. As I said, I'm so new to this and especially coming from using something as simple as the tascam everything is so much more in depth and I'm not sure how big a world cubase is.
I guess my question is "what do I do after I have all the individual tracks recorded?"
I mean, like, I know I'm obviously supposed to mix, but...
well damn
I guess what I want then is a mixing tutorial

Well, What i might recommend a cubase tutorial book or some DVDs if you're really serious about getting started... Do a google search for something like that and you're bound to find some leads. Also, when I first began (not so long ago actually) Youtube was like a gift from god for learning about the program. I'd start by simply figuring out how to edit material that's been recorded, and through that you'll learn some other terms that will be good to google as well. Over all, it's all about making yourself a student of Cubase and mixing. The learning curve is super steep, but don't let it get ya down because after you figure things out with Cubase, you can really start to work with music, and that's the whole point right? It can be done and it's really gratifying.

You can find the manual for Cubase 5 here: Cubase 5 Manual : Download :
The version you have wont have all of the features listed in this manual, but perhaps it will be a place to start. I couldn't find the le5 manual.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help.

Been spazzing over youtube tutorials the past few days. Figuring tons of stuff out :D
