A Boxing day mremix. Simple enough: I followed Gerry's directions & panned the sax solo and last part of the guitar solo away from each other though not entirely eschewing the panned excesses I so enjoyed doing with the main section of the solo of course. (still can't really cop my guitar playing as a solo - probably why it's so effect riddled).

I hear no problems...the drums and bass seem to interact well volume wise, and the guitar is not stepping on anything. The solo seems to be pretty even in volume, compared to the rest of the music. Vocals are good, and clear.

I wouldn't know what to tell you to tweak....sounding good.

why don't you do it the other way around? pan the lead guitar centre and make the sax jump around it. btw i don't think you should try to bury the solo guitar. it sounds like a very decent struggle with a guitar so go a tad easier on the effects?

balance wise this is perfect.

That solo section sounds pretty cool. Now the individual solo instruments are available for more specific enjoyment, depending on which ear you listen through. I think that worked out well....

:) :D :) :D

Hey rayc,

I missed this tune of yours the first time around! :o
I enjoyed my listen and I don't have too much to constructively criticise in regards to the mix!
The guitar solo (playing) is fine, I would bring it up in the mix to a similar level in db's as the sax. I would then maybe try and drop off some of the effect levels so that it doesn't sound too processed. Don't be too hard on yourself about the playing because in my opinion the guitar is well suited to the piece and fits in well with the sax that follows.
Perhaps a slight boost in the lows for the guitars all round just to give them a little more body, especially the soloing guitar!
I don't know whether it was my ears or did I hear a little left/right panning (to and fro) in the guitar playing during the beginning of the solo???

You have a very individual style in your songwriting and your lyrics, from what I hear seem to be well thought out.

Thanx for sharing with us rayc. :)

Gorty :)

Sounds cool. I would say it's done. :)

Nice sound and well rounded. The solo is nice with different panning.

Hi Folks,
thanks for the encouragement & brilliant ideas. I've decided, based on your responses, that it's now time to move on from this piece.
Thank you very much Supercreep, Bigbubba, Gorty, ido1957, faderbug, Dogman & all others who have assisted.
Here's hoping the best for you all as prt of an appeenuyere!

Cool Ray! Sounds good. Only one thing I can think of on this and that would be to chop off some low from the buckups and add some hi's. Sort of thin them up a bit.

Other than that sounds great!

Another good one:)

I Think the guitar solo could come up a tad Ray.

How long before the back-up vox get re-tracked ray?

I think I would like to hear, the suggestion Fader Bug made, in action. The guitar center panned and the sax panning back and forth...could be fun!!!! :D

Kudos to you Ray and Terry !! :) :) :)
