Here is another cover I just got done doing today. Its a cover of Vulture, by The Offspring. Vocals suck as usual. And Im playin all instruments as usual. Have a listen and let me know what you think. Im still tryin different approaches to final mixing my stuff. Never satisfied. Always reaching for that next level :) Its on my soundclick page

Very good musical performance. Drums and guitars are pretty tight. Lol, I don't know about the vocals. Way too much reverb on the drums and vox. Vocals are too low and thin in the mix. The guitars sound great though. For my ears, maybe re-track the vocals and take some verb off the drums. :)

Yea after listening again, Im embarrased on the vocals. I couldnt get to re-doing them today. Had a Dr. visit at the Cleveland Clinic and got some bad news. The cervical fusion I had done on my neck didnt take (Ive had two) and they want to put wire mesh and rods in my neck. Going in from the back side of my neck this time. Previous surgeries were from the front. But its soo messed up in there that they cant attempt front surgery (which is easier). I have alot of thinking to do. :(

Damn dude, sorry to hear that. Hope you get better soon, however they/you decide to do it. :(

guitars, bass and drum sound pretty well together and playin is pretty darn good as well. I do hear the verb on the drums too. The first thing that stood out to me is the vocals as well. Sounds kinda detached from the song, like it was recorded in a totally different environment. But you do a pretty good job of catching the Offspring sound. Keep rockin!

PS....i like that little Hillbilly Groove of yours. Totally sounds like something I would play. Are you using an upright bass? or just looping samples?

That was actually a loop that came with my new version of Tracktion (my recording software). I definately am redoing the vocals today. Feel ok and have the time. Man I love the artwork on your soundclick page and the tunes are out there also.

Definitely has the offspring thing going on...

It's a good idea for you to retrack the vocals - this song has lots of potential. I like the riffs and song structure.

So far so good, guitars and drums are pretty sweet. The vocals are passionate and don't always need to be exactly perfect for me. You have the voice, so maybe just a few retakes in places.....:):D:):D

Thanks. Doing vocal hopefully in the morning after I do some garage sale shopping. I was hoping to do it today but couldnt quite get out there. I posted a Montrose cover a few threads down. Check it out. Im happier with those vocals.

Snare sounds horrible. Very loose tone, and very high endy.
Vocals sound like they have been recorded too far from the mic, I can hear the room you recorded the vocals in.
Bass is lacking alot of low end.
Distortion guitars are the best part of the song, a bit mushy and undefined, but still not bad.

I still learning. I appreciate all the info and plan on re-doing different parts. I still havent had time to get back out to the studio. The vocals I put chorus and reverb on it. I'll take those vst's off and see how it sounds
