VST Plugins not showing up in Cubase 4...is it because of Intel?

So, I have spent a while downloading and installing various free plugins, as well as the package of plugins that came with my Firestudio.

Problem is, basically none of them are showing up in Cubase. I obviously put them all in the correct folder.

Is this because i'm running an Apple MacBook Pro, with an Intel chip? Cause I'd really love to use some of these plugins. If this is the problem, is there any way to make these plugins work, or can I only use recent plugins that are Intel/Mac compatible?

Any insight or suggestions would be helpful!

with the vst bridge in C4 it shouldn't matter if the plugs are universal binary or not..... (though it does eat a lot of CPU)

I assume that you have DL mac versions of the plugins? If not, then PC ones will not work. Ones written for PPC should via bridge like RR said

I have plugins from both online downloads, but also that were packaged in my Firestudio.

These are all mac versions, and show up with the nice VST button/pic and so I move them into the VST folder under the plugins folder in Cubase 4 contents.

Drumagog le and my pitch correction plugin, Melodyne, show up fine, but none of the other ones do, including many that I would love to use.

If screen shots would be helpful, I can take some to explain further.

Thanks

If you would be so kind I would like to see screen shots. Not sure I can help but would still like to see them.

Find out where all your plugins are. I know with PC, some programs will dump them in C>Program Files>Steinberg>VST Plugins, AND some will dump them in C>Program Files>VST Plugins. If Cubase doesn't know to look in both places, it won't find them.

In Cubase, go Devices>Plugin Information (or something like that, I don't have Cubase 4). Make sure all the folders that contain your VST plugins are selected. You can do a re-scan here, too.

One last thing to try if you haven't already, restart your computer.

Here are a few screenshots...hopefully these help!

This show's my VST plugin folder for Cubase, notice plugins such as "Blockfish, all the Sample Tank and TRacks, Amplitude, etc...

This picture shows the Devices -> Plugin Information folder within Cubase/ Notice the above said plugins are no where to be found. I hit "Update" nothing changed.

I have all these plugins in both my Cubase -> Plugins -> VST folder and my Library -> Audio -> Plugins -> VST folder. I have my Plugin Information in Cubase looking in both of those folders for plugins. I just can't understand what the problem is!

It is worth noting that both Melodyne and Drumagog showed up immediately and have always shown up.

Any ideas?

I'd love to use these plugins on my bands EP we are recording currently.

Thanks
