just looking for names and brands so i can try some out or look into them, So please hook me up with the ones you love!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i really wana look into plugins i can save for in the future and just check them out through website. maybe download a trial version to check them out. Then if i love them im gona buy!

But i need to know brands and kinds that are good or great...............

I like plugins by PSP Audioware, WaveArts, Sonalksis, and Elemental Audio. Hard to go wrong with anything these companies have to offer.

have you thought about the UAD-1 card ot the TC Powercore?

I'm with Albert I love the PSP plugs and the digital fishphones stuff has a nice colour

Well, instrument-wise I got NI Komplete and I love them all, but tend to use Absynth and Reaktor the most, followed closely by Kontakt.

Plugin-wise, my bread-and-butter stuff is all UAD-1. Although, I'm thinking of getting PSP-84 and PSP-Nitro.

For reverbs I generally use SIR or route them to outboard.

PSP-84 is cool (As is all the PSP stuff, that new PSP-608 MUlti-Delay looks AWESOME).

For funky delays though, it is hard to beat OhmBoys by OhmForce http://www.ohmforce.com
Check out there whole line of plugins....CRAZY STUFF!!!

I'm also big on Prosoniq http://www.prosoniq.com/
Especially there PiWarp plugin (Really good for messin' up vocals), and there Morph plugin.

My Bread N Butter stuff is PSP Mixpack http://www.pspaudioware.com/ , Nomad Factory Blue Tubes and Liquid Bundles http://www.nomadfactory.com/ , and Ultrafunk (Now Cakewalk) Sonitus Bundle http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Sonitus/sonitus.asp (DirectX though, but still my package of choice for modulation, multiband compression, and reverbs).

Most of the above are available as RTAS too.

Nomad factory makes good plugins..they make a bunddle called bluetubes

WaveArts, Albert said it also. So far they've been great, plugs are really good for the price and sound wonderful. Not to mention their customer service is amazing. Very happy with this plug purchase, other than that pro tools had those updates, eq3 and dynamics3 and if you're running 6.4 you can download both, but for real look at WaveArts and download their trial versions.

IZOTOPE TRASH!Amazing plugin.WaveArts puts out great stuff but it can get insanely expensive and bites giant gaping chunks out of your CPU.

to quote Ford Van -This stuff is AWESOME, and FREE! http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-series.php

as far as free stuff goes, the above VST plugs are hard to beat and the best is that the classic series is a mastering bundle. They also offer a pro series to buy (I think it's the Gold Series). Definitely worth checking out.
But isn't the Diamond bundle a mastering bundle with some nice additional plugs? If you already own the Diamond Bundle, you may be able to upgrade to a different bundle through Waves for a reduced price... that may not be true though, but I do believe you can purchase some of the plugs separately from Waves.... again, worth checking out.

regards,
tulsa
