VS880EX Jazz Drive Foul Up

I accidently erased 16 songs on the expanded Jazz drive disk and untold hours of recording when I thought I was initializing an external zip drive. Is there any way I can retrieve the info lost on the disk? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
