I have an 840ex (which actually now, because of some freak accident--a guitar string got caught in one of the mixer slots and shorted out one of my tracks--is now only a 7 track...of course the 840 is really only a 4 track to begin with...)...
and I am looking into getting a soundcard for my computer so I can dump the stuff from my 840 for easier editing and mixing (and also so I can have access to my comp's cd burner)...can anyone suggest a soundcard? I need digital I/O of course...beyond that, none of this stuff makes sense to me...I've
considered the Turtle Beach Pinnacle Project Studio, the Midiman Delta 66, Echo, Gadget Labs, even SoundBlaster Live Platinum...but
in the process I've gotten myself lost...
any suggestions on what I need to look for would be a big help...
btw my computer has a 500mhz processor, 96mb ram, 13gb hard drive...if that matters...and I have recording software in case the soundcard doesn't come with any...I also want to use the soundcard with my Yamaha A3000 sampler...thanks

Hey why don't you try for an internal Zip drive for your computer?
The VS-840EX uses Motorola RAW format (16-bit) (I'm not quite sure, though) if you can import that from this Zip disk you might use some sort of software to change it into editable WAV format.
