vs-2480

hey there,

i am getting ready to lay down mad cash on a vs-2480.
from everything ive seen/read it seems like a good investment.

was wondering if anyone had information about this unit and/or a unit like it that they might recommend?

You certainly are gonna lay down some "mad cash" for that thing.
I would seriously look into putting together a computer work station before you take the plunge..

Computers are much easier to work with.. especially with a nice program like Sonar.. plus expandability is not an option with the 2480. I believe you can only get certain fx whereas a computer workstation has limitless plug-ins you can buy.

I bought a 1680 back in August 98.. at that time it was as much as the 2480 is now. I used it for a few years and then ran into serious storage space problems and editing songs was next to impossible. The portability is a good feature but today I use it as a very expensive mixer which I plug into my PC recording machine.

Unless you need portability or are completely computer illiterate a DAW is much more flexible with more bang for the buck.
