I live in an Apt, but my neighbors don't really mind.

My questions are:
- Is the POD more versatile?
- Is the POD responsive to the attack on the guitar?

Would I get the same results afterwards by mixing and adding effects if I go witih either?

Equipment:
I have an Epiphone Les Paul with GIbson 57's an MXL 990/991 on the way as I ordered them for my Acoustic recordings.

My reasoning so far is (correct me if wrong):
- VOX I can move and play around with (don't do this much but it's a better feel when "just fooling around"; perhaps more inspiring)
- POD xt has more effects and bells and whistles; better control and quality of recording?

Look at the same nearly exact thread going on about 10 down from here;)

Ok.

"Is the Pod more versatile?" Not really. You can't make actual sound with it. That's why they make the Line6 amps. Pretty much a Pod in an amp.

"Is the POD responsive to the attack on the guitar?" Yes it is. It depends on the amp model, but like the AC30 models, for instance, I find to be suprisingly responsive. Very bell like clean with a light touch and a nice breal up when you hit it really hard. Not as sweet as a tube amp, of course, but it does a good job.
