Volume Pedal (Passive/Active?)

Well I've figured out that I need a low impedance pedal for use with keyboards. I've been looking at Ernie Ball. They have the 6167, which is 25k ohm, stereo, usually around $140. It specifically states this is for "active instruments and keyboards." Then there's the 6181 VP Junior, also 25k ohm, but it's mono and runs about $90. However it only says it is to be used for active instruments and makes no mention of keys. Can I use the Junior pedal with my keys? I never play in stereo anyway so I don't want to spend the extra $50 if I don't have to.

Or maybe I should just start playing in stereo?

sure. low resistance pot works with active (preamplified signal) instruments, there is no difference is this after a stompbox for guitar, active guitar pickup or keyboard. high resistance pots are needed if the pedal is directly after passive pickups, some of tube preamps, or anything with high output resistance.
