I'm recording with Cool Edit Pro, and whenever the source being recorded goes silent for a second, it starts to fade in instead of being right at the normal levels. It reaches the normal levels after about half a second. I can post a sample of the problem if needed.
If anyone knows the solution to the problem, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Chris

Hmmm...sounds like you have a gate on it somewhere.

Post a clip, if you can...and let us know exactly what's in the chain, including any compression effects you're running.

I dunno...when I had the demo version of 1.2a, I think it beeped or something.

I have the full version.
It sounds exactly like a gate, but I can't find one on anywhere. I run my mixer from the tape out (RCA - 1/8) into my sound card. It's not great, but that's all I can afford. There's no effects on the mixer or in between it and the computer. I don't think CEP is set up to apply any effects to a incoming signal, atleast I've never meddled in that part of the program. I've only had this problem recently.
I'll work on that sound clip.

Thanks again guys,
Chris

If you havent' set a gate, there's not one. I mean, there's no CEP/AA default setting that I've seen (or heard of) that would do that.

I can't imagine that it's a latency issue either...since you're not stopping the source at any point...it's just that when the signal drops out, it's fading back in, right?

I've never actually seen this problem posted before...maybe dobro can will recognize it.

Oh, btw...if you get it figured out on your own, do me a favor and post back here.

Good luck,
Chris
