Hi Guys,

First post here, I'm having some major issues with recording vocals everything sounds like its clipping even though its not.

When recording the vocals are about half way in the yellow in protools.

Equipment list: Rode NT2A, UA Twin Finity 710, Scarlet 2i2, Pro Tools 10

Here is a sample recording would love some help!

Thanks in advance.

How do you have the UA plugged into the Scarlet - do you have the front panel switch on 'line'?

Try taking the UA out of the chain (plug the mic directly into the Scarlett) and see if there is any difference.

Hi thanks for the reply.
I have a xlr to Trs cable from the pre to the interface.
The 2i2 is set to line.

In at work at the moment so I can't plug directly into the 2i2 but ill try when I get hone tonight.

You could also try:
1) Put MTR switch on DRIVE and adjust the gain so the VU meter reads max -10. (if thats not possible turn on pad on pre or microphone)
2) Now switch MTR to OUTPUT and turn output knob so the meter reads under 0.
3) Make sure Scarlett signal light never lights up red.
