I searched for this but couldnt find anything...
can the 2488 do something like vocal enveloping? right now im just adjust volume when needed during the master...is that the only/best way to do it? im finding that my vocals on the chorus sound better louder...but actually singing it louder doesnt necessarily sound right. any ideas or suggestions?

Turn up the faders when the chorus happens.

There's no enveloping function as such. I actually tend to record different vocal sections to different tracks for this very reason.

You can of course semi-automate the mixing by saving scenes and then manually cycling through them during mixdown (or you can use MixerMuse software to automate it).

The scene saving thing looked like it would work well, but Im still learning how to do that one. Thanks!

Yeah, it's a bit clunky but does work. I use it occasionally

I use about 5-10 scenes a song. It's like semi-automation. It's great once you get used to using it.
