Hi, I believe this is my first post here. Anyway, I have a small project studio with which I am trying to earn a living. My biggest obsticle is acoustics at this point... well that and my almost non-existant budget. For now I'm focusing on my vocal booth. It's really a walk in closet that's about 6' wide, 5' deep and 7' tall. Me and a buddy built a nice dual pane window from instructions found in a studio construction book. I'm quite satisfied with the window... but everything else is pretty much a mess. The door is flimsy and hollow and might as well not even be there. Above the ceiling is a living space with hardwood floors. In the booth you can basically hear everything that's going on upstairs and the footsteps and dogs claws are unbearably loud. The walls are normal 2x4 with dry wall. Except between the booth and control room (which is where the window is) there is an extra layer of 3/4" plywood. It's actually very quiet between the CR and VB. The room sounds bad as it is. But I have yet to treat it with anything because I just don't know what I'm doing. A friend of mine works for a company that installs acoustic treatments into large fancy buildings. He has tons of free material to give me and it all looks very nice with designer colors and paterns. I just don't know what to do with it. Any help would be much appreciated. Keep in mind I have almost no money to spend on this so free or almost free ghetto solutions are what I need. Thanks a lot! ~Rufuss
