ok
so i was gonna try and skip the whole vocal booth thing and just record in my room due to space, but thanks to this site ive picked up some good ideas on how to use space and now im gonna build a clever vocal booth

what im asking for here is some simple to understand suggestions for what materials i should or could use for the walls. ive come across countless combinations mentioned on here and from other places, i just want to know what you guys think is easiest to find build and actually works

ive heard about egg crates, fiber glass, all kinds of stuff
what do you guys suggest?

Well..

Where do you intend to build the booth? In the center of the room? In a closet?

Are you actually going to construct a vocal booth, or modify existing space to act like a vocal booth?

I use a big thick comforter behind me to kill obvious reflections and other than that I get away with a pretty bare room (with plenty of solid objects and a few chairs in it).

but as GB said it all depends.

just go through the site and check wall units ...... construct a slat resonator wall tune fro 200hz - 800hz according to the wall units section in Johnslayers.com...... John recommend not to kill the highs and absorbe lowmids using resonator in Vocal booth.........

"ive heard about egg crates, fiber glass, all kinds of stuff"

fiber glass is a good stuff generally used in constructing variety of absorbers..... egg crates are just to resolve reflections

what would be good dimenstion for a vocal booth...i heard 5X6X9 was good...true?
