I've been looking a lot into various virtual (or at least partly digital) analog synths since I made my last post. I'm trying to keep the price under $400 if possible.
Things I need:
-Decent MIDI implementation
-Some good ambient sounds, along with a decent lead synth sound
-Fairly easy to customize sounds
-If at all possible, full-sized keys, as I couldn't stand the MicroKORG's
Key count isn't too important. If it would save me money, I'd go for a 37-key synth. Depending on how much I can get away with spending on this, I may keep the RS-50 I have, though I'm somewhat limited financially. If I could stay under $300, I'd be psyched, but I don't know if that's possible. If possible, I'd like to find something relatively inexpensive. I've played the Alesis Micron and the MicroKORG, but I haven't been able to try anything like the older Yamaha, Roland, or Korg synths. Any suggestions?
Edit:
A little eBay searching has gotten me a few ideas for older synths:
Casio CZ-1000
Korg DS-8
Korg DW-6000
Korg DW-8000
Out of those, I think I'd like the DW-8000 best, and the pricing doesn't appear too bad. I just want some good quality synth sounds that are highly editable for not too much $.
