Recorded this in my 30 x 30 studio just finished in Sept. My cousins band (high school kids). This was my first ever recording in the studio which the live room is roghly 30 x 20 with 10' ceilings (1 large open room). I need to add accoustic treatments and I need to make some partitions to make it better. But thats all in due time. We recorded this wide open. I mean it was loud. Basically a live track. Only added tracks was doubling background vocals. We did a total of 6 originals that way and all sound pretty descent for one take recordings. Bleed through wasnt bad for it being gig level loud and all playing at the same time. Used a Macki Onyx 1640 with firewire and Traction sdoftware. Will be doing another session this Sunday with them and we will be doing individual tracks. Let me know what you think of it. Remember this is basically a live recording. Let alone my first ever attempt at the mixer and software.

Anyone have suggestions on cheap treatments. Also the drums are close miced. The two overheads when in seperate pattern about 4 feet apart and maybe 6 1/2 feet off the ground. I just need to tinker with placements. I need to take some pics and see if anyone can give advise on cheap wall treatments. Once I at least get some wall partitions it should help. And recording one insturment at a time will help too.
