I didnt know exactly what forum to post this in, but i figured the people here might know more than most about older equipment.

I have an old reed based Wurlitzer organ and there are no conventional ins or outs on it. There are some "screw" looking things that seem to be ins and outs or some equivalent. They kinda look like the Altec or Urei ins and outs. Basically im trying to run my track through the wurlitzers electronics in an attempt to use the vibrato effect that is built in. Is this possible? Do i need an input strip? What the hell is an input strip?

I only ask because id rather do it this kooky way if i can rather than buy a boss pedal or something mild.

Thanks

I know this is an "Analog" forum, so you are right by posting here, but you may get a better response in the kyboard forum. I have a rhodes and a hohner pianet t, but don't have a wurlitzer.....I wish I did though......

I sure wish I knew how to do this type of thing, then I could use my organ's reverb(which is awesome) on other instruments.

Yeah, and I could go through the Leslie speaker and do the "Walrus" or is it "Lucy" Actually the Lowrey organ I have has an input jack but it's not equipped with electronics. Anyway, sorry I'm no help to this post.

adding inputs?

I imagine that your screw tip connectors are a 15-30w powered out for a tone cabinet.

I'm sure there is a way to add inputs in the signal chain post organ/pre effect, but if you just mess around in there you are risking ruining your vintage electrostatic organ and electric shock. (filter caps can hold charges for 24hrs after unplugging the organ)

For the price of getting someone else to do it, you could probably get an old peavey pa head with spring reverb and some sort of vibrato. Look at yard sales this spring.
