Forgive me if this has been covered or is a stupid question.

I'd like to be able to produce demo's with the VF80, say four songs. Once i've mixed tracks 1-6 down to 7 & 8 and have a mix i'm happy with for each song, can i then burn the completed four songs onto a CD using the internal burner?

As you can tell i'm totally new to digital and don't completely understand how it works.

Thanks for any guidance.

Yes, you can. Every time you produce a Master from a mixdown on 7/8, the VF80 creates a new program of that master with the prefix MST... You just highlight the MST's you want on your CD. No worries.

How is the mixdown section on the VF80??? Would it be better mixing on a p.c. with some of the free software available or just as good utilizing just the VF80 for everything???

I prefer to use the vf80 just for recording, it is very stable and sounds good, no fuss.
I burn my tracks as wav files and take them to the PC for mixing and editing.
That way, I can get a full 24 tracks out of the vf80, rather than have to mix 6 down to 2 all the time.

You can do all your mixdown/mastering on the VF80 -- all the way to burning a CD. It's a very easy process. Doing it on a PC would be different -- far more visual, more flexible for putting different effects onto different tracks.
